Holocaust remembrance week set Governor James R. Thompson has proclaimed April 29 to May 6, to be Holocaust Com­ memoration Week as part of an international observance of the death of six million Jews less than 40 years ago. Thompson said Jews and millions of other people suffered as victims of Nazism. That suffering should always be remembered so that it will never be repeated, he said. Overcoming prejudice in our society, the Governor said, requires education, vigilanoe and resistance to prejudice. The Governor also attended the annual Holocaust Memorial Service at the Old State Capitol. The service is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Illinois and the United Holocaust Memorial Service.
