The next one will be held Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m in the parking lot of McHenry Community High School West Campus, 4724 W. Crystal Lake Rd. Newcomers to the recycling technique may wonder what can be recycled and how to prepare it. Newspapers should be bundled or placed in paper bags. Be sure no magazines or slick glossy paper is included. Glass containers should be rinsed, lids and metal or plastic rings removed. Paper labels need not be removed. Steel cans which are generally known as "tin" cans need to be rinsed, labels removed and flattened. Used oil should be placed in sealed containers such as plastic milk jugs. Corrugated cardboard can be bundled together with brown paper bags in easy to handle bundles. Aluminum scrap, such as foil, TV dinner trays, etc. will also be accepted. Aluminum cans which are 100 percent aluminum will net the PRIME RETAIL LOCATION JOIN" JEWEL/OSCO & WAGS recycler 33 cents per pound, if crushed; 31 cents per pound if uncrushed. A bonus will be paid for lots of more than 100 pounds. Co-sponsoring the May 5 drive will be the Marriage Encounter Community of McHenry under the leadership of Toj^and Terry Wildhelm. Marriage Encounter Community is an international organization which is church- affiliated but non- denominational. Gait Squadron officers are named Gait Composite Squadron, headquartered at 1008 Oakwood Dr. McHenry, has named the following officers who will serve the unit commanded by Captain Walter Bender: First Lt. Mike Szarfiniski, senior deputy commander; Second Lt. Steve Kelly, deputy commander cadet program; First Lt. Carol Szarfiniski, communications and personnel officer; Second Lt. Bob Light, unit testing officer.
