Another highlight of the 20- minute chase, which started just south of Algonquin and ended east of Fox River Grove, came on northbound Route 31 near the McHenry County border where Kane County sheriffs deputies were foiled in their attempt to arrest Ferguson by the snapping Saint Bernard. According to Kane County police reports, the episode began at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday when Kane County sheriffs officers were called to Ferguson's Buffalo Park trailer to check on a (domestic distur­ bance. \ As police arHved, Ferguson took off in his car north on Route 31 to the county line, where he was stopped by a pursuing Kane County officer. Police reported Ferguson lost control of his vehicle in a spin on U.S. 14 between Cary-Grove and Barrington. Ferguson was charged with reckless driving, speeding, leaving the scene of an accident, disobeying stop signs, improper lane usage, fleeing and eluding police and reckless conduct.
