The chair­ person will be seeking co­ workers, riders, and sponsors for the event, which is scheduled for late September. Funds from the Bike-A-Thons have helped St. Jude provide total medical care for over 7,000 yoitng patients free of charge, and often free transportation and free lodging. Childhood cancer kills more children than any other disease. St. Jude Research and Patient Care struggles with the most terrible diseases inflicted on c h i l d r e n , l e u k e m i a , retinoblastoma, neruoblastoma, Wilm's Tumour, Hodgkin's disease, and others. Leukemia patients can now be promised a 50 percent chance of a complete cure. A few years ago, leukemia was almost uniformly fatal. There are over 4,200 patients under care right now. The St. Jude Wheels for Life Bike-A- Ttoon offers hope for a possible cure. St. Jude patient care is available to any young person. Service news BRADLEY WILSON Marine Pfc. Bradley W. Wilson, son of William P. and Annette E. Eilson of 3506 Vine St., McHenry, recently par­ ticipated in "Combined Arms Exercise 5-84" in the California desert. He is a member of 1st Marine Division Camp Pen­ dleton, Calif. Conducted at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., the exercise was designed to provide realistic combat training and coor­ dination between Marine Corps air and ground units. ADAM KLEIN • Army Pvt. Adam T. Klein, son of Richard T. and Barbara M. Klein of 4403 Ringwood Road, Wonder Lake, has arrived for duty in Tonguchon Ni, South Korea. Klein, a wheeled-vehicle mechanic with the 2nd Infantry Division, was previously assigned at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. He is a 1983 graduate of Johnsburg High School.
