Bluebirds 5 Wonder Lake A's l: (May 23) Pitcher Bret Derby and catcher Vic Olson teamed up to stop the A's cold. Derby gave up only one hit and struckout five for the win. His catcher threw out four A's trying to steal. Derby added a double from behind the plate, while Mike Smith added two hits. Dave White and Pat Hales had hits for the A's. Condors 5 Orioles 1: (May 24) Jeff Lewis threw a two-hitter and struckout 11 batters in gaining the win. Seizemore, Tom Johnson and Lewis all hit doubles for the winners. Seizemore knocked three runs on two hits. Dan Wray had two hits for the Orioles. Cardinals 9 Johnsburg Orioles I: (May 21) Behind the defense of third baseman Mike Wohlwend and the pitching of Tim Glosson, the Orioles were .held scoreless until the fourth inning. Wohwend made good pick-ups of three tough ground balls, while Glosson gave up only two hits and struckout 11 batters. Tim Mauer doubled twice for the Cards and Kevin McGee added one. McGee, Mauer, Bob Glus and Kevin Carney all had two hits. Cardinals 6 Eagles 3: (May 29) Tim Mauer doubled twice and Bob Glus once to lead the winners. Mauer picked up the pitching win, allowing one run on four hits in four innings. Steve Sieverin helped out defensively by backhanding a grounder at thirdbase and throwing to first for the out. Doug Gibson had two hits for the Eagles. McHenry minors STANDINGS -- Bluebirds 4-0, Robins 2-1, Red Sox 2-1, Owls 2-1, Hawks 0-3 and Falcons 0-3. Robins 21 Red Sox 6: (May 25) The Robins jumped out to a 100 lead in the first inning and added eight more runs in the second inning. Marie Sonnichsen led the winning attack with four hits, while Kevin Mullen added a double, triple and a single. Marc Weak man, Pat Crow and Dean Dillon all had two hits for the Robins. Jacob Schlender led the winners at three-for-three, two runs, five rbi's, a double and a triple. David Grove and Chris Roth both had triples, while Alan Kraft knocked in three runs on one hit. Anthony and Ronnie Neece had two hits each for the Orioles. Kraft was the winning pitcher, retiring 12 straight batter at one point. He struckout nine batters. McHenry minis Cubs 2 Yankees 0: (May 29) John Buch and David Wray scored the only two runs off a sacrifice fly by Jay Druml. Buch was the winning pitcher. Pigtail Seniors Pete's OirU 27 Kimnls 4: (May 24) Kim Belzer and Tina Buss led the winning attack, each going three-for-three. Belzer added a homerun and five rbi's, while Buss had three runs scored, seven rbi's and a double. Eileen Douglass added a triple, three runs scored and three rbi's. Winning pifeher Kim Belzer struckout 11 batters. Lockers Flowers 9 Classic Trophies 7: (May 30) Jenny Samen's two triples led Lockers to the victory. Catherine Kupstic came up with the big defensive play of the. game, catching a flyball and stepping on second base for a doubleplay. Kupstic was also the winning pitcher with five strikeouts. Stacey Johnson, Timberly Steward and Pamela Gregorio all hit doubles for Classic Trophies, while Gregorio added a triple. • Pete's Girls 11 McHenry Home Maintenance 10: (May 30) Pete's Girls won their third straight to take over first place. Pete's were paced with homers by Kasondra Weiler and Eileen Douglas. Chrissy Hill, Angie West and Kris Peterson all hit triples, while Weiller and Kim Belzer added doubles. Oak Park 12 Classic Trophies 2 Mary Koleno's three-run homer in the first inning sparked Oak Park Lounge to a 12-2 win over Classic Trophies. Nancy Glick added another homer for the winners in the fourth inning to knock in three more runs. Glick ended the game at three-for-three and three runs scored. Chris Mortell helped out with two hits. Mortell added some defensive help with a diving catch in centerfield in the third inning to end a possible scoring threat. River Shannon 14 Old Bridge Old Bridge jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but River Shannon bounced back with four runs in the second inning and went on to an easy win. Julie Oeffling had the big hit of the game, a homerun in the. fourth inning. Cheri Kofler added a double and triple for the winners, while Annette Coughlin hit a double. Kofler finished three-for-three at the plate and three runs scored. Roberta Kechash, Chris Knox and Agness Holas all had a hit each for Old Bridge. Ed's Rental 7 Cullom Knoll 0 Cullom Knoll loaded the bases in the fourth inning, but were unable to score off of Ed's Rental's Jan Miller as the pitcher recorded her second shutout of the season. Diane Michels led Ed's offensive attack with two doubles and a triple, while Mary Fishback also doubled. Miller added two hits and two runs scored. > McHenry Men's 12-inch continued from page 22 J Jim Szamlewski's rbi single won the game for Lakeside in the bottom of the seventh inning. Reardon was two-for-two for Lakeside, while Szamlewski had three hits. Phil Oeffling, DeCicdo and Mark Schultz all had two hits for Johnsburg. ' Rusty Nail 8 Doherty's 3 Doug Freund and Don Bentz both had three hits to lead Rusty Nail Inn to a 8-3 victory over Doherty's. Doherty's didn't help its cause leaving 11 runners stranded on bases. Defensively, Rusty Nail pitcher John Connell snared a line drive, while Doherty's pitcher Dan Quinn and first baseman Twig Miller teamed up for seven putouts. Freund added a double to the winning cause. Mike Rogers hit a triple for Doherty's.
