Artists and crafts people may apply for the show by calling, Elvi Mikk (815) 338-1153 or send requests to 400 E. Calhoun St. Woodstock, 00098. Annual fireworks display depends on volunteer support Fireworks will be held on Wednesday, July 4, at Petersen Park for the enjoyment of all on the anniversary of this nation's freedom. But in order to provide that enjoyment for all, many in dividuals must donate their time and efforts to provide the sup port services necessary for making it a pleasant, smoothly- run event. Parkings crowd control, gate receipts, and refreshment service are the on- site responsibilities that are manned by volunteers from many segments of the com munity. Although the fireworks are sponsored by the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, the event would not be possible without the assistance of the McHenry County Emergency Service and Disaster Agency volunteers, the volunteers from the McHenry Jaycees, and the members of the McHenry Lions Club. Their staffing of the parking, gate tending, and concessions, respectively, provide the extra man-power essential to producing the event.
