More, than 350 people attended the "Dances Around the World" recital held at West Campus. The 90 students who have participated in the dance classes performed to dances from around the world including China, Hawaii, Mexico, France, Ireland and Africa. The dancers, dressed in ethnic costumes, performed dances choreographed by Rosemary Kondritz, teacher of the ballet and creative movement classes, and Cindy Rupp, teacher of the jazz and tap classes. Five guest performers from the area helped to entertain the audience and inspire the young McHenry dancers in continuing their dancing education. Assisting in the second annual McHenry Parks and Recreation dance recital were the following: Kimberly Berg of Crystal Lake, a teacher at a dance school in Crystal Lake, performed a British jazz routine. Shari Grewe of Crystal Lake performed a Brazilian tap routine. Kathy Taylor also of Crystal Lake, performed two dances. Taylor's acts were Hungarian and Spanish ren ditions of the "Swan Lake Ballet."" Dave Lindquist of McHenry, and Adrian Lloyd Watts paired up for several pantomime numbers. The entire dance company and the gue?t performers concluded the recital with a dance and chorus to the in ternational song "It's a Small World." Interested residents should watch for the City of McHenrv. Parks and Recreation fall program brochure for further information about fall dance classes.
