TODD HARRISON Married in Johnsburg The former Michele Renate Adrian became the bride of Todd Andrew Harrison May 19 during a 1 p.m. ceremony performed by the Rev. John C. Holdren in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Johnsburg. The bride is the daughter of Ferdinand and Maria Adrian, 15 E. Canterbury, Arlington Heights. Thomas A. and Marilyn R. Harrison, 800 W. Oak Grove Rd., McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. A reception for 170 guests was held at the Johnsburg Com­ munity Club. Prior to settling and pursuing their careers in Los Angeles, the newlyweds enjoyed a wedding trip which took them sightseeing through Nebraska, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Southern California. The bride graduated from Buffalo Grove High School; and Northern Illinois University May 12, 1984, with a B.S. in Dietetics, Nutrition and Food Science. The groom graduated from Marian Central Catholic High School; and received a B.S. degree in Numerical Control Technology from the same university on the same date.. Still time to register for arts and crafts fair space Artisans from over a five- state area are expected to - exhibit and demonstrate their talents and wares at St. Mary's Episcopal Church's Annual June Jubilee Arts and Crafts Fair. The event will be held Saturday, June 23. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on the church grounds at 210 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Some of the booths will include carved wood pieces, dolls, baked goods, stained glass, quilts, niacrame, hand knit and crocheted items, beaded flowers, paintings, jewelry and leather goods. According to Craig Spengel, chairman of the 1984 fair, preparations are going into high gear as the event approaches. But, there are still a few booths open and it is not too late for exhibitors to register. For more information, one should call St. Mary's parish office, 459-1009. Clowns, bands andvother entertaining surprises are planned throughout the day; something for everyone from the youngest to the oldest. Refreshments will be on sale 'Flotilla' set Members of McHenry Moose 691 will participate in a "Flotilla" of members who will begin their trip at the Antioch lodge on the morning of June 23; lunch in McHenry as they proceed down the Fox River by their own means (camper, boat, etc.); then, to Crystal Lake and on to the Algonquin lodge for a pig roast. After a night of camping, the members will again stop at the lodges as they proceed north to Fox Lake Moose Sunday. Hold festival The annual Pioneer Senior Citizens' Strawberry Festival will be held Saturday, June 23, on the vacant lot next to the city parking lot on Broadway St., Richmond. It starts with a bake sale and selling of boxes of fresh strawberries at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Also during that time, sundaes, shortcakes and dishes of strawberries will be served, as well as barbecue and hot dog sandwiches, with coffee or pop. In case of rain, the event will be held in the Masonic Hall (next to the vacant lot) 5613 Broadway. EKEROTH, JR. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ekeroth, Jr. of Belvidere, IL became parents of their first child May 30 and named Mm Patrick Curtis. The 6 lbs. 13 oz. baby boy was born in St. Joseph's Hospital, Belvidere. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bonar of Belvidere. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ekeroth, Sr. of McHenry are the paternal grandparents. Great- grandparents are Mrs. Tfaelda Thompson of Belvidere, Mrs. Estelle Ekeroth of McHenry, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Land of Spring Hill, FL. LOCHER Christine and Kirk Locher, 1711 Sunnyside Beach Dr., McHenry, announce the birth of their first child on May 31. Hie 9 lbs. 1 oz. baby boy entered the world in McHenry Hospital, and he was named Matthew Alan. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ero Vahamaa of Ish- peming, MI. Mrs. William Locher, also of Ishpeming, is the paternal grandmother. SCHUETTE Erica Lynn is the name chosen by Ron and Leslie Schuette, 3209 Hunter Path, McHenry, for their third child and second daughter. The nine- pound baby girl entered the world June 2, in Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock. She was greeted at home by her brother Jason, age seven; and three-year-old sister Angela. Maternal grandparents are Lester and Catherine Kothe of Dundee, IL. Orlyn and Dorothy Schuette, also of Dundee, are the paternal grandparents. MARZANO Vincent and Eileen Marzano, 5320 W. Shore Dr., McHenry, became parents of their second daughter June 2. Jennifer Lynn was born in McHenry Hospital and weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. She has a 17-month-old sister Nicole. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Connell of Delavan, WI. Mrs. George Marzano of Park Ridge, IL is the girls' paternal grandmother. BERKNER -- A baby boy was born to Allan and Bonnie Berkner, 110 Hilltop Dr., McHenry and they named him James Allan. The 6 lbs. 3% oz. infant arrived in McHenry Hospital June 5. He was welcomed home by his two-year- old sister Kristy Lynn. Maternal grandparents are Helen and Arthur Cwerenz of Addison, IL. Delores and Randall Berkner of Sleepy Eye, MN, are the paternal grandparents. Mr. Harold Berkner is the children's great-grandfather. Foxridge women install officers during the entire day; everything from a complete steak sandwich dinner to brats ala carte, soft drinks and homemade pies. "All at reasonable prices," noted Spengel. "We want to keep the cost down so that people can afford to bring the whole family for an enjoyable day." ^ Women sponsor salad luncheon The Lutheran Church Women of Nativity Lutheran Church, Wonder Lake, is once again sponsoring its Annual Salad Luncheon, Wednesday, June 20, at the church, 3506 E. Wonder Lake Road. Serving starts at 11:30 a.m. and the price of the ticket in­ cludes good fellowship, ex­ cellent food, prizes, and music by Charlie Jacobson. Everyone is urged to mark the calendars to attend this event. The Foxridge Women's Club announces installation of its new officers as follows: Kathleen Johnson, president; Darlene Sim an, vice-president; Lydia Marshall, treasurer; and Nancy Urbanczyk, secretary. The annual garage sale was a Jhugfe success and mM Result of the efforts of all < the par­ ticipants, a donation of $351 was made to FISH (the charitable organization-Friends In Service Here). An appreciation coffee will be held June 20 at 8 p.m., at the home of Pat Serra, 608 Kensington, for those involved in the sale. This year, as previously, members planted marigolds and petunias in flower boxes on the corner of Crystal Lake Rd. and Main St., McHenry. In addition to the usual flowers, spirea bushes were added. The club will need help watering these boxes and also the barrel it planted in front of Althoffs. Anyone interested in helping should call Pat at 385-8468. The club's fund raising day at a local thrift shop made it possible to donate money for flowering trees and concrete picnic tables to the park district, to be installed in the Malibu Ct. tot lot in Winding Creek. Even though the Foxridge Women's Club does not meet during summer months, there will be more get-acquainted "coffees" throughout the summmer months for anyone interested in sharing ideas and learning more about the club. The next general meeting will be held in September. NANCY MANDELL In pageant Nancy Mandell, daughter of Bert and Ricki Mandell of Pistakee Highlands, is a con­ testant in the Pixie division of the upcoming "Stars of Tomorrow" Beauty and Talent Pageant which is being held this weekend, June 14-17, at the Ramada Inn, High wood. Needlepoint guild seeks new members The Fox chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild held its second annual dinner and exhibit recently and 55 projects were exhibited by members displaying work done during the past year. The exhibit included four-way Bargello pieces, Christmas girls done on different size canvas with.different fibers, Danish flower thread projects and woven French ribbons. Also, needlepoint notebook covers, plaid projects, silk pendants and needlepoint angels. Officers installed for the next two years are Karen Weidner, president; Terri Dols, vice- president ; Elaine Rumple, secretary; and Lois Madsen, treasurer. The new year will include lectures, demonstrations, learning new stitches with different fibers, and a show and tell time. Sponsor Swedish Days square dance The Geneva, IL Chamber of Commerce will sponsor an old- fashioned square dance Saturday, June 23, at 8:30 p.m. in front of the Kane County Courthouse. The public is in­ vited. Van Fossler of Piano, IL will be the caller. Fossler has 17 years experience in calling and is considered by many to be one of the most interesting and competent callers in the area. Before the dance begins, the Fox VaUey Mixers Square Dancers will give a demon­ stration performance at 8ip.m. They have been dancing as a club since Sept. of 1963, main­ taining an average membership of 40 couples. Matulka, 18, the daughter of Don and Mary Matulka, 210 W. Croyden, Spring Grove, has been selected to be a, finalist in the 1984 Miss T.E.E.N. Illinois pageant to be held at the Sheraton-Naperville Inn, July 6- 8. Hie pageant is the official statewide finals for the national Miss T.E.E.N. All contestants are between the ages of 14 and 18, and must, have at least a 'B' average in school, having maintained this average for at least two previous years. Each is required to participate in the volunteer community service program of the pageant, and contribute at least 12 hours of time to some worthwhile charity or civic choose to give either a two- minute speech on "Teens En­ couraging Excellence Nationally," a two-minute original monologue, or a two- minute talent presentation.
