Kilduff, pastor of St. Peter's Church in Spring Grove, has announced that Sunday, June 24 is the date of the parish sponsored ann»fli Chicken Dinner and Summer Social. Hie menu includes chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, frozen corn, cucumber salad, cole slaw, pickled beets, dinner rolls, coffee, milk and tea, topped off with an assortment of homemade pies. Serving will be from noon to 3 p.m., in the church hall, with background music provided by a well-known accordionist in the area. Upon completion of the delicious meal, everyone can enjoy playing games, with the opportunity to win prizes. This year, to accomodate more people, a tent will be pitched on the church activity. Tickets may be purchased at the door. A day of en­ tertainment, games, prizes and visiting with friends is offered at $4.50 for adults; $2 for children six to 12 years of age*, and free for those under six. Eacharist vigil set A Eucharist Vigil has been planned by the Daughters of Isabella for Sunday, June 24, at St. Joseph Church in Richmond. T%e event will begin with a Mass conducted at 2 p.m. in the church and exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by an outdoor procession, bearing a statue of the Blessed Mother. The Reverend Lowery celebrates 25th 9 The Reverend Thomas E. Lowery, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, McHenry, celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of his ordination Sunday, June 17. During worship services, a plaque commemorating the occasion was presented to Pastor Lowery by Vale Adams, chairman of the administrative board and Dr. Richard F. Farmer, chairman of the pastor- parish committee. After services, a reception was held in the fellowship hull for the Reverend and Mrs. Lowery. The Reverend Sandra Hoke, district superintendent of the Elgin District of the Nor­ thern Illinois Conference, was in attendance. The Reverend Lowery is a Singers in concert Tell the World, a singing group comprised of 40 young people from age 13 through 28, will be featured in a special TV version of their final concert of the 1983-84 season. Hie concert will be aired in the McHenry-Island Lake area on channel three Monday, June 25 at <> p.m. and Wednesday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. For in­ formation about singing with them or having them perform at your church, call Walt, 312-526- 8306. 1956 graduate of Western Illinois University, a 1959 graduate of Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and received a Master's Degree in U.S. History from Northern Arizona University in 1972.
