Freeze Voters and Freeze Supporters kicked off its ncndting drive as part of a national Walk-A-Thon, being organized by Freeze Voter '84. Hie Geneva Freeze Walk is fheduVed for Saturday, July 7, at Wheeler Park-Geneva Route 81, five blocks north of Route 38. The walks are planned as a major fundraising effort to strengthen the Freeze Voter effort to elect pro-Freeze can didates to the U.S. Congress, Senate and the White House, whOe also giving additional to the Nuclear Freeze cause. The goal is to achieve a mutual and verifiable nuclear arms freeze by the U.S. and the Soviet Union as the first step towards nuclear arms reduc tion. Funds raised locally will be used both by the local Freeze organization and the national election effort. "Because the Freeze is a real grassroots campaign, we want to give everyone an opportunity to get involved." said the Elgin Nuclear Freeze group. Walkers will cover a 10 kilometer route (6.2 miles) and collect pledges for each kilometer walked.
