CELEBRATIONS The last day of June marks the ending of teen years for Andre Yerkes. Andre has had high honors in his McHenry County College studies and is now going on to other ventures. July 1 is a very important date for Kathleen Kelley and Sonny Withrow, both of Lakemoor. Also celebrating the same day are teenaged Diana Pickett and Brian Ford, who will be starting his eighth year. There was much reminiscing, as A1 and his parents had farmed the land where "Possum Run" gravel pit is now. A1 also received some of his schooling at the little white schoolhouse that was torn down to make way for the McHenry Township Fire Department Company 3 building on Route 120 and Lily Lake Road. BUSY STREET Barnard Mill Rd. was a busy street last weekend. From all; reports, everyone had a good .time and a successful garage sale. Friday the rain liked to play games with us. Some think it would be a good idea to have another one at a later time. We'll see. How about you? Do you like your sales close together? CHURCH CAMPOUT Another successful campout was held with a tremendous turnout of campers. There was a total of ten cammping units by Friday night. Some of the folks went out Wednesday night to enjoy the quietness of the camp grounds. Saturday night, a large potluck stew, that cooked over the open fire all afternoon, was enjoyed by 44 of the folks. It was delicious. Some came out to just enjoy the stew and the campfire and community singing lead by Trudy and Reinhold with his accordion. Even the rain didn't dampen the spirits of some. Sunday, after regular church service (which some of the campers attended, camp fire smoke and all), there were around 50 of the parishioners who attended the potluck dinner at one o'clock. A delicious casserole was made from the small amount of stew left on Saturday besides all the salads, etc., that those cooks of the church can whip up.
