Peklo left for New York City where they spent two days at the Waldorf Astoria and attended a performance of "Cats." Then, they continued their honeymoon at Niagara Falls, touring parts of Canada JEFFREY PEKLO on the homeward journey. The bride is the former Sandra J. Schau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry R. Schau. 7412 E. North wood Dr., Wonder Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Peklo, 3140 E. Lake Shore Dr.. Wonder Lake, are the parents of the bridegroom. Invite all to Polish picnic July 15 Liberty Post 188 of the Polish Legion of American Veterans. McHenry, is sponsoring its third annual "Olde Tymes Polish Picnic" Sunday, July 15, at the Pearl Street Park in McHenry. The event is scheduled to start at noon with live country- western. 50's-60's music. At 1 p.m., polka music by a 12-piece concertina club orchestra will play for listening and dancing pleasure. Homemade Polish sausage and hot dogs, as well as popcorn, soda-pop, a beer wagon many more surprises for yc and old are on the agenda. Once again this year, a Polish heritage souvenir products table will be available where one can purchase a variety of items, including hats, shirts, decals, etc. Hie general public is invited to attend and help welcome summer fun to the McHenry area. Admission is free and everyone is urged to get a group together to enjoy themselves "Polish style." Donations from the proceeds The 1:30 p.m. ceremony was performed by Father Dorance Tranel in Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake. Adding to the setting of decorations in the rainbow thane of the bridal party, were musical selections, offered by soloists Craig and Missy Spengel, accompanied on the organ by Mrs. John Leighty. They included "Far From the Home I Love," "One Hand, One Heart," "O Perfect Love/* " W e d d i n g P r a y e r , " "Sometimes," and "Ave Maria." The bride wore a gown of white crystal chiffon, styled with a jewel neckline and long, puffed sleeves, appliqued with reembroidered lace. Her fingertip veil, with detachable cathedral veil, was secured to a lace crown headpiece, adorned with pearls, which had been made with love by her mother. For 'something old' she wore a white gold cross, worn by her mother at her own wedding. Sharon Schau and Sue Parenti of Westchester, attended their sister as maid of honor and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister. Lynn Decker of Hanover Park. Niki Yon of Crystal Lake, and Joanne Ulrich of McHenry. Attendants were attired in tea dance length, dotted swiss dresses, with jewel necklines and long, puffed sleeves, similar to the bridal gown. Their colors of pink, yellow, light blue, green and orchid were repeated in wreaths of carnations gracing their hair, and white baskets of silk flowers which they carried. Handling the duties of best man was Sergio Matamala of Bit. Prospect, DL Groomsmen were the groom's brother Dean Peklo of Geneva, EL, Dan Spears and Steve Frittner of Mt. Prospect, and Dave Smith of Chicago. The bride's brother, Steve Schau, and the groom's cousin, Dan Darlak of Wood Dale, HI. served as ushers. The mother of the bride chose a robin's egg blue, chiffon, tea dance length dress, with cap sleeves, highlighted with a draped scarf over the left shoulder. The groom's mother selected a light blue poly crepe, tea dance length, sleeveless dress with a pleated flounce; complemented with a collarless cap sleeve jacket enhanred with two tiers of the pleated flounce. A reception for 120 friends and relatives was held at Branded Steak House in Crystal Lake. The new Mrs. Peklo attended McHenry Community High School and McHenry County College. She is presently on- ployed in the field of telemarketing at Quill Co., Lincolnshire, 111. Her husband attended Willow Brook High School, Villa Park, III. and is a manager of Bob's Colors in Glen Ellyn, 111. They are making their home in Schaumburg, 111. The bride was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower hosted by Lynn Decker, Sue Parenti and Sharon Shau. Community Calendar JUNE 30 McH. After enjoying a delicious lunch, the group had a lively social time. The annual Circle Picnic is slated to be held Tuesday, July 10. at noon, at the home of Helen Walters. 3016 Mary Lane. Those attending are requested to bring items for the "White Elephant" sale, to help replenish the treasury. Because of the Labor Day holiday, the next regular monthly circle meeting is being changed to the second Tuesday in September, the 11th. Marcia Mary Ball Circle will be in recess from July 10 until that date. Picnic begins with 'White Elephant' sale - There has been a change in the plans for the annual T.H.E.O.S. picnic. It will be a potluck. held in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, Monday. July 16. 1 The activites will begin with a "White Elephant" sale at 4 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 5:30. Everyone attending is requested tobring a dish to pass and items for the sale. Beverages will be provided^ T.H.E.O.S. (To Help Each Other Smile) is a casual, warm and friendly group for widows and widowers, meeting the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. They have dinner together at a local restaurant and then go to the First United Methodist Church for an evening of fun and fellowship.
