Preliminary judging took place Ju ly 17 at Chfepel Hill Country Club. Fair president Charles Weingart reported on fair activities to members and to the news media during intermission. Earlier, contestants participated in. the Red Cloud golf benefit at Chapel Hill, visiting with celebrities and a s s i s t i n g w i t h t o u r n a m e n t preparations. Kleckner said rules for the pageant are based on rules for the Association of Illinois County Fairs Pageants. Talent is not a part of the contest. The 1984 Miss McHenry County con testants will appear, as determined by a drawing, as follows: Miss Woodstock. Michele Berlin, 19, daughter of Jack and Jane Berlin, is sponsored by the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She is a junior at the University of Illinois ma joring in music. Miss Hebron. Tina Spotten, 18, daughter of John and Peg Spotten, is sponsored by the Hebron Business Association. Tina plans to attend McHenry County College. Miss Cary. Stacey McCormick, 17, is the daughter of Wayne and Ruth Cerney. She is sponsored by the Cary Chamber of Commerce. She will be a senior at Cary-Grove High School this fall. Miss Richmond. Jenny Hoening, 16, daughter of Charles and Sherry Hoen ing, is sponsored by Intermatic, Inc., in Spring Grove. She will be a senior at Richmond-Burton High School in the fall. Miss Algonquin. Tiffany Couper, 17, is the daughter of Greg and Terry Couper. She is sponsored by the Miss Algonquin Committee. Tiffany will at tend the University of Utah in the fall to study political science. Miss Union. Dianna Bending, 20, daughter of David and Mary Bending, is sponsored by the Union Lioness Club.
