Reservations: 414-273-8222. arc 'Plaza ('l^nwuHhmN Army band to play in Wonder Lake parade A 35-member band from the 81st Army at Fort Sheridan will be a featured unit in a parade on Sunday, August 12, the second day of the celebration of the establishment of the Wonder Lstat Dam. Chris Niehaus, who is co- chairman with Jack Crawford for the parade, reported to the steering committee that 20 registrants for the parade have been received. She says, however, that she will still ac cept parade entries. The parade will be held at 2 p.m. on August 12, and will begin at Christ the King Catholic Chruch and proceed to Wonder Center. John Rice, representing the Wonder Lake Fire Department, told the committee that the %e stations on both sides of the lake will be open on the celebration days with a number of activities planned. It is expected that youngsters will participate in bicycle, tricycle, and doll buggy contests at both fire stations. Rice said that an ambulance will be stationed at Wonder Center on both Saturday and Sunday. A representative for the Wonder Lake Woman's club, Sara Hearity, said that the club will offer helium balloons for sale during the celebration. Desserts will be served at Nativity Luthefw^ Church, and 2re will be a fundraiser at the King Church. Pony rides will be available for the children as well as some small electric rides. A book that will feature a history of Wonder Lake and also the program for the events is being compiled by Lynn Raske. Advertising in the booklet, sold by Elmo Bardley, will provide funds for the committee's ex penses. The Reverend Richard Weight, co-chairman with Lorraine Murphy, has recently recuperated from an illness and is now able to again attend meetings.
