Quitter Ginger Jacobson put in over 75 hours on a quilt she prepared for the Easter Seal Society for McHenry County. The quilt i«ri!l be ou display at the Woodstock Business Showcase Sept. 14, IS, and If. Easter Seal quilt to be displayed this weekend Ginger Jacobson of Crystal Lake, has been utilizing her talent as a quilter for preparation of an "Appalachian Trail Wildflower Quilt" for the Easter Seal Society for McHenry County. The quilt will be displayed at the Woodstock Business Showcase Friday, Sept. 14 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The quilt will be given away. Partridgeberry, Dogwood Violet and Dorf Iris are some of the many wildflowers which will be featured in the quilt. The wildflower patterns were hand- embroidered by Easter Seal volunteers and materials for the quilt were donated by a local business. Ms. Jacobson, who has been quilting since age 16, explained the three basic quilting patterns • modern, original and traditional. Modern patterns are an attempt at interpreting art with fabric. An original pattern usually protrays a particular interest or per­ sonality trait of the person the quilt is being prepared for. Traditional quilt patterns are reproductions of patterns created 200 or 300 years ago. Queen Anne cemetery to be dedicated as landmark Queen Anne Prairie-Eckert Cemetery, a rare one-acre remnant will be dedicated as an Illinois Natural Heritage Landmark on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 1;30 p.m. - The public is invited to share the dedication ceremony with the Eckert family, which now leases the acre to the McHenry County Conservation District. Queen Anne Prairie is located northeast of Woodstock on Queen Anne Road, one-half mile north of Charles Rb&d.
