In addition to performing at military ceremonies and local civic functions, the band serves as official musical ambassadors for the Illinois National Quard. They recently returned from a summer tour in Louisiana and have played for audiences in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, Utah, Arizona, Tennessee and New York as well as in West Germany and Spain. All members of the band are reservists in the U.S. Air Force. They meet one weekend per month and perform an annual two-week active duty tour. The band is commanded by Capt.
