He had been a patient at Northern Illinois Medical Center since his motorcycle accident in August. He will still have a lot of recuperating to do, but I'm sure it will be much easier for him now at home. When I remember back to his days on the Brewers baseball team, I can just picture what a great athlete he was and I know he will be just as aggressive with his recovery. Great to have you back home, Doug! Football beginners When you hear of a great football game, you usually think of one with a lot of points up on the scoreboard. Northwood Junior High's lightweight football team opened their season Thursday, Sept. 27. To those playing, and to all us parents on the bleachers, it was an exciting game, even though the final score was 0-0 against Olson Junior High. Not being an avid football fan, I didn't know any of the strategy of the game, but I sure did have fun watching our Pat and the other Wonder Lake boys, Luther Anderson, Jeff Glaves, Bill Nolan, and Jack Pelleck, out there doing their part. The heavyweight team played Wednesday, Sept. 26, a-d they won 22-0 over Olson Junior High. Hospitalized Greg Selleck* son of Doug and Karen Selleck, is a patient at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford. Greg fell and struck his head on cement stairs and was taken to St.. Anthony's by helicopter Sunday, Sept. 23. He is now doing fine and is in the pediatric section of the hospital. Special Days Happy anniversary to Tom and Walli O'Brien, who celebrated Oct. 1.
