department programs begin this week The City of McHenry, Department of Parks and Recreation continues registration at city hali, Green Street, for fall, 1984 programs. Classes are scheduled in several interest areas and at various levels for age and ex­ perience. Many programs begin the first week of October. BALLET-DANCE Ballet I- Offers a basic anatomy of ballet technique for the early grades, for ages six to 10. Each class will run for 29 weeks at Parkland Junior High School. Session 1 will be held from 4:20 to 5:05 p.m., Tuesdays, beginning Oct. 9. Session 2 will be held from 9 to '9:15 -a.m. Saturdays beginning Oct. 6. Fee is $45.. I Ballet-Character- Designed for the student who has had "Ballet I or equivalent, for ages . 10 to 15. Adult Jazz Exercise I- A good workout for those who are beginning to get into an exercise program again. For ages 15 and up, the class will be held in three sessions, each running from 8 to 9 p.m. Mondays, for 10 weeks. Seteion 1 will begin Oct. 8; session 2 on Jan. 7 and session 3 on April 1. The fee will be $15 per person. Jazz II- Will teach more dif­ ficult combinations for persons age 10 to 15 years, who have had at least one year of jazz in­ struction. The class, to be held for 29 weeks, will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Saturdays begin­ ning Oct. 6 at Parkland Junior High School. Fee is $45.. Continuing Adult Jazz- For adults, age 15 and older, who have been exercising and want to strengthen and tone their bodies. The classes will be held from 4:15 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays at Parkland Junior High School. The fee is $45. Tap I- For boys and girls, ages six through 12, with little or no previous tap experience. The classes will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Saturdays beginning Oct. 6 at Parkland Junior High School. The fee is $45 for the 29- week class. Tap. II- For persons ages 10 through 15 with two or three years of previous experience in tap. CREATIVE MOVEMENT Rhythmic Movement- A beginning dance class designed for children ages four and five. Session 1, for five year olds, will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursdays beginning Oct. 11 at McHenry Public Library. Session 2, for four year olds, will be held from 9:50 to 10:35 a.m. Thursdays beginning Oct. 11, also at the library. The fee is $45 for each class. Both will run from 29 weeks. Rhythmic Movement-Pre- ballet- Will teach creative movement and basic ballet to children five and six years old. McHenry County College, in cooperation with Memorial Hospital for McHenry County and the McHenry County Department of Public Health, announces a week-long con­ tinuing education course for the certified nursing assistant. The class will be held Monday, Oct. 22 through Friday, Oct. 26,8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. The course fee is $40.
