FISH notes urgent need for Thanksgiving donations Once again Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and once again FISH volunteers will make every effort to bring a day of thanksgiv ing to the community's less for tunate neighbors. During the past year FISH has been able to help in many emergency needs, but now its cash reserve has been depleted. Area churches and other organizations as well as private citizens constantly contribute to the FISH pantry, but the need is great and the shelves are emptied as fast as they are stocked. FISH tries to send a complete Thanksgiving dinner and enough extra food for several days to each family. FISH can only do this through the generosity of the com munity. A great deal of food is IRB cap loophole told The State of Illinois, through an executive order issued by Gover nor James Thompson, has acted to help overcome the 'cap' placed on Industrial Revenue Bonds by recent legislation passed by Con gress. Governor Thompson's ex ecutive order provides that any amounts left unused from the non- home rule units of government by Nov. 15 of this year and Oct. 1 of each year thereafter shall be pool ed and revert to the Office of the Governor for reallocation to state agencies or non-home rule units of local government. The important message that the McHenry Area Economic Development Commission wants to stress is that eligible projects still can be processed as long as the state limits have not been ex ceeded. Interested parties should con tact E.D.C. Director Bill Bolger, at 385-4300 at the EDC office for further information on how pro jects may qualify for the pro gram. Pa*. 7• PLAINDEALER HERALD.
