Unity, which reaches over six million people in 160 countries, was founded in 1889 by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore to facilitate like-minded seekers in the metaphysical study of Christianity. It is an inter­ denominational Christian church which welcomes people of all belief systems. Unity Church of Crystal Lake is located at 3 Chalet Drive, northwest of the intersection of U.S. routes 14 and 31. Sunday worship services as well as Youth Education are held at 11 a.m. and adult education is held Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. For additional information, call 455:2479. The Rev. Einar Ford, missionary in Japan, will speak at the Evangelical FYee Church of Crystal Lake, located at 290 W. Crystal Lake Avenue, Sunday, Nov.ll, at both 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services. He and his wife, Blanche, will take part in the evening service at 6:30 p.m. < The Rev. Ford has served in Japan under the sponsorship of the Evangelical Free Church since 1953 and has been engaged in a church planting ministry. He was born in Norway; and received his training at Nor­ thern Illinois State Teachers' College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. The Ford family is currently on furlough and residing in Benson, Minn. They will spend the next year in missionary conference work in Evangelical Free churches in the United States and Canada. Box 6539, Rockford, IL 61125. 3ach request for up to six tickets must be accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed en­ velope. Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, and 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 3rd Avenue and 6th Street. A free will offering will be received at each performance. Faith Presbyterian Church, located at the intersection of Lincoln and Chapel Hill roads, across from the drive-in theater, will be having a Thanksgiving food distribution Sunday, Nov. 18. On that date, church workers will be , providing ap­ proximately 25 needy McHenry families with turkeys and canned goods as a means of sharing Christ's love. If local families have the need for such assistance, they are eiicouraged to contact the church office at 385-5388. Orders will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. As another service, Faith is offering an exciting program for youth of all ages. On Wed­ nesdays, beginning at 4 p.m., a Youth Club program is offered for children, grades four-nine. The program includes recreation at Hilltop School, a choir program led by Scott Persky, director of the popular gospel group, Isaiah 53, a fellowship meal, and a Bible Study. The program also in­ cludes a comprehensive con­ firmation program for older youngsters. On Thursday afternoons % another Youth Club program is offered for grades one-three. On that afternoon, over 30 childen gather for crafts, recreation, a snack, choir and a lesson from the Bible. Enthusiasm runs as the children enjoy fel and fun together in an at mosphere of Christian love. Any parents who are in­ terested in registering their children are urged to contact the church office. Faith church also offers an active senior high group and is the home of the Joyful Noise Christian Preschool. Visitors ate always welcome.
