Charges brought against man in fatal accident By Jim Nash HaraM ftewaSarrte* Crystal Lake Police have charged an Algonquin man involved in a two-car collision in Crystal Lake with driving under the influence of alcohol. Although police do not believe he caused a Thanksgiving Day accident that killed a McHenry man, Ranion Olszewski, they have , charged Raymond Humbard, 1343 Cary Road, Algonquin, with DUI. But, police officials said Monday they are not sure the charge will stand because they have no concrete evidence Humbard was intoxicated. The charge is based on an officer's report of an alcohol odor on Humbard or in his vehicle following the accident. The accident occurred in front of Crescent Corp., 8001 S. Route 31, the police report said. Humbard and his wife were injured'in the crash. At 2:30 a.m. Nov. 22, Olszewski was pronounced dead he * to ' at the scene after his northbound auto apparently tried to pass a car and ran head-on into the Humbard vehicle. Much of the debris caused by the accident was found in the southbound lane. v The Humbards were taken „ Sherman Hospital, Elgin, where Raymond remains hospitalized. His wife was treated and \ released. 7 Police are waiting for a blood sample analysis to determine whether Humbard was in toxicated at the time of the admittance. It could take three weeks for the analysis to be returned, a police official said. No other charges have been filed in the case. TRANSPORTATION Governor James R.
