DECEMBER 5,1984 Easter Seal offers calls from Santa Area 4-H officers receive training The Easter Seal Society for McHenry County is offering an op­ portunity to give a gift to a special child this holiday season. Imagine your child's excite­ ment when he or she receives a Christmas call from Santa direct from the North Pole! The North Pole Connection of the Easter Seal Society is your child's individual hook up to Santa's workshop. Each child registered with the North Pole Connection will receive a three minute call from Santa and have the opportunity to tell him his or her Christmas wishes. To register, call or write Easter Seal at (815) 338-1707, 708 Washington, Woodstock, 111. 60098, and provide some background in­ formation on your child. Send or phone in the information to Easter Seal no later than Dec. 10. Phone calls will be made Dec. 11,12 and 1$ from.5 pA. to 8 p.m. Specify a one-hour time period and night in which to receive the call. A $3 fee musp be sent to Easter Seal prior to Dec. 11. Any checks should" be made payable to the Easter Seal Society. All proceeds from the North Pole Connection will be used to benefit Easter Seal therapy pro­ grams and services. Art contest to celebrate anniversary Over 80 McHenry County 4-H members and 24 4-H leaders recently participated in the 4-H Club Officers' Training, which was held at Northwood Elem&ntry School, Woodstock. At the training, 4-H members were divided into groups of their respective club office. A speaker then informed each group of their duties and responsibilities as club officers. 4-H leaders attended a session where the learned how to work with the various club officers. Their session was conducted by Mary Widolff, an Extension youth adviser of the University of Illinois. The 4-H Club Officer Training was sponsored by the McHenry County 4-H Federation. PM&L is celebrating a quarter-century of live theatre in Antioch, and all area artists are invited to submit designsior the program cover which will be featured during all six productions next season. To be eligible, artists should submit drawings using the following guidelines: -The cover design should be drawn on an eight by 11 inch white stock using black or dark ink. -The design should in one way incorporate the theme of the 25th year anniversary of the PM&L Threatre. Retail theft is charged McHenry Police arrested an area man after he was repor­ tedly caught leaving Osco Drug Store, 4222 W. Elm St., McHenry, on Nov. 30 without paying for $7.49 of beer. Michael Zeller, 702 S. Route 31, McHenry, was charged with retail theft following the in­ cident. In other arrests: -Lorraine M. Johnson, 312 S. Crystal Lake Road, McHenry, was arrested for driving under the influence after p0lice stopped her car for driving without headlights at 11:03 p.m. Nov. 30. -Donald A McGregor, 3308 Waukegan Road, McHenry, was charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop Dec. 2. -All entries will become the property of PM&L Inc. and should be submitted no later than Jan. 31, 1985. -All entries should be sent to PM&L Inc., Care of Program Cover Contest, Box 23, Antioch, 60002. . -The winning design will be announced on Feb. 23 at the last performance of "On Golden Pond." Winners need not be present. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded. First prize is a $100 gift certificate for jewelry, second prize is a $50 gift certificate for clothing, and third prize is a $50 gift cer­ tificate for jewelry. In addition, each of the winners will receive two season passes for the PM&L's 25th year and two season passes to Great America.
