Members are asked to stop in at the lodge for a registration form, and to return them this week, to assure that all little ones will be included. The "Bubbly" McHenry Moose Steak, Eggs and Champagne Breakfast will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, from 8 a.m. to noon. Members and guests are invited. This breakfast will be held at the present site at 2816 W. Route 120, as furnishings are not yet completed at the new lodge home. The new McHenry Moose home at 3535 N. Richmond Road, will be the site of this year's New Year's Eve Party. The work is, progressing steadily, and the officers are happy to announce that it will be open for this event. Tickets for the dinner-dance are now available at a reduced rate, until Dec. 8, at the present lodge home. Outdoor center holds festival MR. AND MRS. MICHAEL BUDRECK Brother escorts bride Upon iheir return from a two- week honeymoon in Hawaii, recently married Mr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph Budreck established •' residency in McHenry. The bride is the former Rosalie Sue Otto, daughter of Marie T. Otto, 4222 Crestwood, McHenry. Charles and Mary Budreck, 1001 Cherry Valley Road, McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. Father Gilbert Graham and Father Edmund Petit officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony per­ formed Oct. 6, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, McHenry. Special music included "Wedding Song," "You and I," "One Hand, One Heart," "Ave Maria," and "There Is Love." Attending the bride as matron of Honor was Carolyn Rowan of Des Plaines. Bridesmaids were Pamela Otto of Chicago, Debra Otto of McHenry, Linda and Carrie Budreck of McHenry, and Brenda Ballard of Chicago. Handling the duties of best man was Michael Rowan of Des Plaines. Groomsmen were Clifford Otto and Charles Budreck of McHenry, Richard Luerssen of River Forest, David Lee of Chicago, and James Wren of Oak Park. The flower girl was Kristian Budreck and the ring bearer was Jacob Otto. Joseph and Thomas Budreck of McHenry served as ushers. Following the nuptials, a reception for 200 friends and relatives was held at Chapel Hill Country Club. The bride graduated from McHenry West Campus High School in 1980 and is a nurse's aide in surgery at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. The groom graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School in 1970; attended McHenry County College two years; and is a carpenter by trade. The bride was given in marriage by her brother Bruce Otto. Pleasant Valley Outdoor Center invites one and all to come and be part of its Third Annual Deck Your Halls from Pleasant Valley Hands-on Christmas Festival, Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A new assortment of or­ naments and gifts which can be made by people of all ages is being assembled, along with old favorites such as wreaths and hand-dipped candles. Once again winter hayrides will be offered, weather- permitting ; and the newly completed nature center will be open, with naturalist Ed Collins giving presentations on winter wildlife. Hearty soups, freshly baked bread and hot cider will be on the lunch menu, along with some ala carte items to tempt the taste buds. Preserves, breads and cookies will be on sale as well. PWP slates meeting Parents Without Partners, Chapter No. 189, will hold its second general meeting Friday, Dec. 7, at the Crystal Lake Moose Lodge on Route 31, one- quarter block north of Route 176, featuring a rap discussion en­ titled, "An Old Fashion Christmas." Those wishing to participate in a Christmas cookie exchange are requested to bring one dozen; and everyone is urged to wear red and green. Newcomers' orientation will be at 8:15 p.m. On Dec. 5, Newcomers will be held at Rita's; call 312-639-3447. Great- grandparents are Orville and Zella Miller of Champaign, 111., Alfred Koss of McHenry and Emily Vick of Harvard, 111. ff ff ' • r { • • Honeymoon in Hawaii Enjoy holiday theme Hostesses Cecilia Oakford and Victoria Bottari used Thanksgiving as the theme for the November meeting of the Lakeland Park Women's Club, with decorations and eatable turkeys as table favors. In the absence of the president, secretary Lyda Radisch conducted the meeting, as the vice-president was quite hoarse; ana filled in for the treasurer who was on the sick list. Lap robes and bibs made by the members were brought to the meeting and will be delivered to the nursing home promptly. Members will also prepare birthday gifts, for the nursing home at the January meeting. Riding arrangements were made for all who plan to attend the Christmas party Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Long Horn Steak House. Dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. There will be a $3 grab bag gift exchange, and those wishing to may prinj gifts for their secret pals.^ This has been a busy year for the group that is almost 20 years old. Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at the Lakeland Park Community House, with the exception of December, June, July and August. It is a small but active club, interested in helping others and increasing its membership. League meets Nutrition and Weaning is the topic for the McHenry-Fox Lake La Leche League meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 12. Some - of the points of discussion will be the league's belief that breast milk is the superior infant food and the increased awareness of good nutrition for the entire family. Delaying introducing solid food into the baby's diet will provide, an interesting discussion, as well as baby-led weaning, which is an important concept in child- rearing. La Leche League is a self-help group dedicated to promoting good mothering through breastfeeding. A ROSE SCHAEFER 98 years young As the former Margaret Ann Gibbons of Milwaukee, Wis. approached the altar to become the bride of William E. Mc- Cardell of Glendale, Wis., she was given in marriage by Brother Leonard Courtney, a close friend and academic advisor while she was earning her degree at St. Mary's College, Winona, Minn. The 2 p.m. wedding was concelebrated July 28, by the Rev. Father Glass and a family friend, Father John Reilly, in St. Mary Church, Port Washington, Wis. Appropriate music was provided by Ann Celeen Dohms, organist, and the boys choir. The bride is the daughter of Kathryn Boyer, 5013 Dartmoor, McHenry, and the late Timothy J. Gibbons. Mr. and Mrs. William McCardell, Jr., 906 S. Fourth Avenue, Libertyville, 111., are the parentb of the bridegroom. The bride wore an eggshell ivory gown, styled with a bodice of French Alencon lace, featuring leg o' mutton sleeves encrusted with pearls, a high illusion neckline and dropped waist; a row of buttons down the back; and full circular taffvta skirt. Her sister, Katie Gibbons of McHenry, acted as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Gibbons of McHenry, Anne McCardell of Libertyville, 111., Pat McCardell of Milwaukee, Rosemary McCardell of Hin­ sdale, 111., Maurita O'Connor of Roselle, 111., Mary Richter of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Maureen Maloney of Madison, Wis. They wore tea length dresses of ivory organza over ivory taffeta, with satin ribbon at the neck and a satin sash girding the waistline. The best man was Dennis O'Connor of Roselle. Groom­ smen were Hal Scott of Lit­ tleton, Colo., Charlie Stevens and Jim Braza of Wauwatosa. Bill Logue of Darrington, 111., Bob Bruner of Grayslake, 111., John Wheeler of Dallas, Tex. and Chris Coakley of Merrill, Wis. The mother of the bride chose an aqua chemise with full sleeves. A pale blue, pleated, tea length dress with long sleeves was the choice of the groom's mother. Following the ceremony, a reception was held for 250 guests at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii and San Francisco and are presently making their home at 7015 N. Milwaukee River Parkway, Glendale, Wis. The new Mrs. McCarzell is a kindergarten teacher at St. Mary School, Port Washington. Her husband graduated from Marquette University Law School and is a practicing at­ torney in Milwaukee for Linder,' Honzik, Marsack, Hayman and Walsh. Mrs. Rose (Adams) Schaefer, 909 N. Green Street, McHenry, will celebrate her ninety-eighth birthday Thursday, Dec. 6. Mrs. Schaefer is a lifelong resident of McHenry and Johnsburg.
