Since the Detroit conference, Gray and Sailors have been invited to put on their program sometime in March at the State Community Education Con­ ference in Springfield. Sewing machine company to move to area In an effort to consolidate their operations, Union Special Corp., a manufacturer of in­ dustrial sewing machines, will move all manufacturing operations from Chicago to the main plant in Huntley. Currently 80 percent of the corporation's manufacturing operations is located in Huntley. TTie company, which makes large, industrial sewing machines, Drimarily for the apparel industry, does at least 50 percent of its business overseas, according to Edward O'Connell, vice president of finance. The firm is moving to Huntley in order to make manufacturing operations more cost-efficient, O'Connell added. Last year, Union Special sales totaled $95 million, compared to $120 million three years ago.
