It's iK i stranger. Y»m U't it in.Trusted it. Relied on it. Basked in the warmth it provided for years. And for years, it's l)een robbing you blind. You see. Jill gas furnaces waste money. And most of them waste-a lot of money. Because most ga^funuees only work efficiently when the outside temperature is at or below freezing. But here in northern Illinois, it doesn't get that cold nearly a^ often as you might think. Just thirty six percent of the time between fall and spnng. Which means that the other sixty-four percent of the time, almost two out of every- three hours, your furnace has to do a lot of stopping and starting. And like a car. that wastes a lot of gas. Almost half of every dollar's worth of natural gas you pay for. An electric heat pump, on the • >ther hand, wastes nothing. Because unlike the gas furnace, it bums nothing. Creates no heat from scratch. It simply takes the heat from the sun that's already in the ;ui' i ititside and bnngs il inside. And unlike the gas furnace, an electric heat pump is most efficient wherithe temperature is above freezing. Sc > efficient, in fact, that it gnes you more BTl's of heat than you pay for. not less. Twice as many, on average. G>nsidenng it can do that most of the time, two out of every three h( >urs. it makes a whole lot of sense to add a heat pump to your forced-air system. Especially since it can do one other thing your furnace can't. It can reverse itself in the summer and become a central air c< mditioner. Just by flicking a switch. ' Look into it.
