All the money raised by the event will allow M.D.A. to provide patients with wheelchairs, leg braces, daily living aids, clinic visits and summer camps at no direct cost to the patients or their families. McHenry County has ap proximately 20 people who have neuromuscular disease. Candidates questions are needed The Legislative Advisory Council of the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce „ is sponsoring a Candidate's Night on Wednesday, March 20, at ' Parkland School beginning at 7 p.m. The evening is dedicated to city positions only and will be in two parts. The first part will be devoted to a forum for the aldermanic and administrative candidates and the second part devoted to a mayoral debate. The LAC requests questions on issues that are important to the constituency of the can didates. Questions should be submitted to the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, 1257 N. Green Street, McHenry, Illinois, 60050. Crane closes office in Round Lake Twelfth District Congressman Philip M. Crane announced that as of March 1 the casework load of the 12th Congressional District Office in Round Lake Beach will be handled by the District Office in Crystal Lake. "After a one-year experiment, it has been determined that there has not been sufficient constituent use of the Round Lake Beach Office to justify the continuation of its operation," Crane reported. "Mrs. Geri Davis, who handled constituent problems in the office, will continue to handle them from the 12th District Office in Crystal Lake," he added. A telephone number has been provided for the Crystal Lake office for use of Lake County constituents, (312) 223-3030. ~ Staff people will schedule £ sessions in various communities ' in Lake County to expedite the ^handling of constituent ; problems. Tune in tomorrow. . . Music more than just a shower song Kiwanis Presents: CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE DINNER Johnsburg Community Club MAR. 17,1985 SERVING 12 N00N-4PM Adults $7.0012 yrs. & under $4.50 i LOS ANGELES - Music has always been an important ingre dient to the success of "The Young and The Restless," and, if all goes as scheduled, a new tune, written specifically for the soap, will become a hit record. The CBS serial is recognized as the principal innovator in the daytime soap world for its use of orchestral background music, lushly arranged themes for romantic couples and vocalized musical interludes that are an in tegral part of the show's plot. "Y&R" 's most widely known tune is the show's own theme music, which became known as "Nadia's Theme" after gymnast Nadia Comaneci used it during her Olympic performances. Actress-singer Patty Weaver, in her role of Gina Roma, recently sang a number entitled "If We're Not in Love" as part of Gina's nightclub act. The song, written by "Y&R" music director Jez Davidson, is now regularly used as the romantic theme for Gina's brother, Danny, and his wife, Traci. If audiences respond favorably, Columbia Records (a sister organization of Columbia Pictures-TV, which produces "Y&R") will release the song as a single. Under consideration for the flip side is "We Had It All," another "Y&R" original that became Lance and Lorie Prentiss' love theme several years ago. Michael Damian, who plays Danny, already has an album available, entitled "Love Is A Mystery," which contains several songs he introduced on "Y&R." The 22-year-old performer began singing with his musical family group, "The Weirz," when he was 11 years old. Members of his fami ly still serve as backup musicians for Michael's rock 'nJ roll con certs, which are an especially notable success throughout Canada. Not to be outdone, "All My Children" 's relatively new music director, Harold Wheeler, com posed "Loving You Again," the love song the fictional character of Mark Dalton wrote for his jailbird lady love, Brooke Cudahy. That number was introduced by chanteuse Yvonne Caldwell, played by Vanessa Bell, a few weeks ago, and has been heard frequently as Brooke whiles away the hours in the slammer. Wheeler, incidentally, was the first black and the youngest con ductor on Broadway for the musical, "Promises, Promises," nearly a dozen years ago. Most recently, he was orchestrator of the Broadway hit "The Tap Dance Kid." His theme and mood music, created especially for "AMC," should not only add another feather in Wheeler's cap, but also add a new dimension to the at- iftosphere in "AMC's" Pine Valley. AS MARCH ROARS IN LIKE A LION, the character of Warren Carter on "Search For Tomor row" will go out like a lamb -- a lamb to its slaughter. In villain Warren's case, he'll be receiving his just desserts for a string of nefarious deeds, which have in cluded driving his ex-wife nearly out of her mind. Actor Michael Corbett agreed to stay on "Search" for a limited time when he was rehired last fall. Corbett says he wanted to "resolve the character's situation, since it's been such a great role to play, and I felt he deserved to go out in proper fashion." : FUNDRAISER A fundraiser has been ~ scheduled by the McHenry County Republican Central - Committee for GOP candidates seeking reelection in McHenry ; Township. The event will be held • from 2 to6 p.m., Sunday, March ^10 at the McHenry Moose Lodge, " Route 31 and Johnsburg Road. - Donation is $10.
