Graduate degrees were awarded to Ranay G. Swikle, master of arts* and Carol Therese Thomas, certificate of advanced study, both of whom are from McHenry. A Wonder Lake resident, Judith A. Marquardt, was awarded a masters degree in education. Four McHenry area un­ dergraduate students also received degrees. Virginia Ann Cholewa received a bachelor's degree in nursing, Susan Mary Durkin received a bachelor of fine arts degrees, David James Miller received a bachelor of science degree in business and Jeffrey Richard Olson received a bachelor of fine arts degree. Dance Show '85 at East Jenny Tonyan (right), Montini stndent council president, presents prizes to the winners of the "name the pre-school contest." They are Jeff Jacobs, fourth grade; Jamie Sindler, third grade; and Todd Sindler, second grade. Montini preschool is set to open for the fall term Dance Show '85 will be presented on Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week in the theater at East Campus. The program will start at 8 p.m. each night and includes a variety of dance-ballet, jazz, modern and choreographed. The show is directed by Karen Kraft and student director Robin Irwin. Montini Catholic Schools will open its "Little Angels" pre­ school in fall. Tlie program will be held on the bottom floor of St. Patrick's parish center from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is the possibility of a three-day session on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The pre-school is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5. The program will consist of a iresentation and introduction in >e basic areas of religion, language, mathematics, music, motor facilitation and arts and crafts. For fee and material in­ formation and to register contact either the Montini Primary Center (385-5380) or Montini Middle School (385- 1022). Reinhardt scholarship is given to MCC counselor Cathy Bolger, a counsel Dr at McHenry County College, has been awarded the Emma Reinhardt Scholarship by the McHenry County chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an educational sorority of which she is a member. Bolger plans to use the $1,500 scholarship next year while pursuing a graduate study program in clinical health and wellness at John F. Kennedy University, Orinda, California. She is taking a sponsored, professional development leave of absence from MCC during spring semester of 1986 in order to further her educational growth. Course work will focus on exploration of the relationship between life patterns and choices, illness and welH>eing. The program includes study of stress management skills, vocational dynamics and life transition skills. "I am not looking for a job change," stressed Bolger. "I plan to come back to MCC. I have been here for six years and I am at a point in time where I need to find fresh approaches and new information." BUILDING COMMITTEE The Johnsburg District 12 building and grounds committee will hold a meeting prior to the school board meeting on March 21. The committee meeting will start at 6:45 p.m. in the ad­ ministrative office conference room. Soloists for Dance Show '85 include Kelly Frantz, Robin Irwin, Shelly Loser, Rose Oleksijew and Dana Smith. Karyn Althoff and Michelle Landis are also featured in the duet "Fame." The McHenry East jazz band, directed by William Toalson will accompany the dancers. D.William Dodds, principal of East Campus, has been invited to speak at the 1985 Annual Meeting of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the largest of the six r e g i o n a l a c c r e d i t i n g associations that serve the nation. The conference will be held in Chicago from March 17 through 20. "Humanities: Sharing Our Heritage" will be the topic of his presentation. In it he will discuss the need for the school curriculum to broaden student horizons through courses in humanities. He has developed a slide-tape program on Paul Revere as an example of ways in which other times and Societies can be made pertinent and in­ teresting for today's students. The audio-visual presentation was developed during a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship program held at Boston University during the summer of 1984. The NCA Annual Meeting is attended by more than 3,500 educators irom the 19 states served by the Association. D.
