MARCH 22.1985 MOLLY MILLIGAN Your Home Decorator Pan* Milhgan Syndicate BLUEBELL, BOOK AND CANDLE If your home or apartment doesn't have a fireplace, you can still enjoy the excitement ot a fire by placing lighted candles in strategic corners. Burning candles not only add vitality to a room, but they also shed a warm and I(altering glow on guests and furniture. A few candles on a table in the middle of a room (where a lamp would not be possible) add a touch of instant magic. It I could have only three decorating accessories, I would choose tlowers, books and candles. And all three can be purchased for lesv than twenty dollars! * Ifexr Molly Milligan: I have a large group of family photographs which I would like to display. Any ideas? Jack, Si. l.ouis IX'ai I;kk• A well lighted hallway--cither upstairs or down--can make u wonder I ul little gallery lor family photographs, which might be lost if the loom wire bigger Since all photos are of family members, there's no need to woiry about shapes or sizes of frames, as the family theme gives them the s'atus ot "collection". If you have many small prints, you may want to arrange them in a close-knit group on wide mats. IViir Molly Milligan: What is your personal opinion of family photographs in the living room? Please be frank. Billie, Klgin, II. Dear Bdhe- II you really want to keep family photographs in your living room. I suggest you group them all together on a desk or sofa table. If siiung atound the toom they will tend to look forlorn and forgotten. Please don't clutter up the piano (a delicate musical instrument) with a display ol Iannis and friends. I would also advise against placing photographs on the mainlepiece. I his spot is best reserved for a few good objects of art. Personally, I prefer to see Tamily photographs in a bedroom, family room oi hall Bet let yet. in a family album. Well, you asked me to be frank.
