Q!N 2» PAOK 2 - i'UlMlLALhH-HLRALi). FRIDAY , APRIL 5. urch 19B5 nvite all to concert Palmer and Haakon Vaadeland will perform at Alliance Bible Church April 14. The public is invited to attend an Evangelistic Sacred Concert, to be held in the Alliance Bible Church, 3815 W. Bull Valley Rd., McHenry, April 14, at 7 p.m. This service will be presented by the "Freedom Light Gospel Duo," of Palmer E. Vaadeland and his adopted son, Haakon P., both from Park Rapids, Minn. They will perform several vocal solo and duet numbers, and then conclude with a short message from God's Word. After graduation from the seminary in 1959, Palmer, rather than ^accept a call to serve a local congregation, felt the calling to dedicate himself to presenting evangelistic sacred concerts. Prior to conducting this ministry, he was a member of the internationally famous Concordia College Concert Choir, and for three years, had a radio broadcast of hymns and gospel songs. More recently, Haakon has become the other member of this team. Prior to his adoption, he was raised Roman Catholic, and for the first nine years of his schooling, attended Parochial schools. In November of 1975, he surrendered his heart and life to Jesus Christ, and since that time, has become very active in witnessing for his Lord. Presbyterian church slates three services for Easter Invitation extended Worship at First Baptist The First Baptist Church (south on Rt. 31) invites the community to join in worship this coming Easter Sunday. A special time change will be in effect for the services the morning of April 7. The Bible Study hour will begin at 9:30, dismissing at 10; and the wor ship service will start at 10:15. The Easter service wijll be highlighted by a special dramatic reading given by 11 men of the church in costume, speaking as in the days of Christ. The adult choir will perform "His Last Days" by Dallas Holm. Featured soloists are Jim Justice as Jesus, during His last days on earth ; and Pastor Tom Roberson and his wife Linda, as Peter and the woman at the well, singing a duet called, "Calvary." Penny Beazley portrays Mary the mother of Jesus; and Leonard Morris, the Roman centurian, will sing "What Kind of Man Is This?" This dramatic musical, under the direction of Jim Justice and Judy Lance, gives the glorious message of Christ, as the choir, dressed in the time of that day, starts out as the "Hosanna" crowd and turns into the "Crucify Him" mob. The message will be climaxed by Jesus singing, "Rise Again," joined in a section by Barb Bavetz and Judy Lance, to form a trio. The Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church will have three worship services Easter Sunday, April 7, at 7:30,9:30 and 11 a.m. Church school will not be held Easter Sunday, but will resume April 14. A nursery for children five and under will be available. During the past weeks, several of the church's young people have been preparing themselves to become members of the Presbyterian church. As a result, they will be confirmed and received by the congregation Easter Sunday. Those to be confirmed are Catherine Halbrendt,/ Adam Hjerpe, Amy Huichings, Christie MacLeod, Laura McLuckie, Kyle Sauers, Mike Showalter, Dave Toepfer, and Terry Tope. The annual Easter Sunday Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The Men's Club is spon soring the breakfast and will be serving pancakes, sausage, applesauce $nd other delectable entrees. Tfie cost will be $2.75 for adults and $2 for children and senior adults. The Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church located at 8505 Church Street in Ridgefield, invites members and friends to attend Easter Sunday, and rejoice in the glory. Sunday, the new bus schedule will begin with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. The adult choir will sing "Blaster Hymn" at 10:45 morning worship service.
