Thompson said that he supports proposed legislation which will make regional interstate banking possible for Illinois. "I fully support Senate Bill 525, which will abolish the five banking regions within Illinois while at the same time making regional interstate banking a possibility among midwestern states," Thompson said. The bill will aliow Illinois banking institutions to acquire and be acquired by banks in the established banking region, as long as the states have compatible legislation for reciprocal, action. "I view the implementation of a regional interstate banking system as the first step toward modernizing the Illinois banking laws," Thompson said. I am prepared to examine other proposals for modernization in this area during this session." Buses to go to NIMC door Suburban buses will drop passengers off right at the door of the Northern Illinois Medical Center starting April 22, the Suburban Bus Division an­ nounced. Beginning that date, Route 806 Fox Lake-Crystal Lake, and Route 809 McHenry County Saturday service will travel to the medical center and step at the door. Previously, buses stopped on Route 31 and passengers going to the medical center had a long walk to the center, which is set back from the road.
