McHenry Township Fire and Rescue Squad The following are the calls for fire and rescue squad services that have been made to the tycHenry Township Fire Protection District in the last week. APRIL 8 . At 1:11 p.m., the fire department was called for a change of quarters to Wonder Lake Fire Department. At 6:03 p.m., an ambulance was sent to the 800 block of Southgate for a woman who was ill. APRIL 9 At 11:03 a.m., an ambulance responded to the 4700 block of Ashley Drive for a diabetic problem. APRIL 10 At 10:25 a.m., the rescue squad went to the 4400 block of Elm Street for a man with a back injury. APRIL 11 At 10:03 a.m., the rescue squad was called to a traffic ac­ cident i in the 3800 block of Elm Street. At 6:51 p.m., the fire department and rescue squad responded to a house fire in the 2200 block of Route 120, east of McHenry. At 10:55 p.m., the rescue squad was dispatched to the 900 block of Hanley Street for a woman who had fallen. APRIL 12 j*?-*i At 6:36 a.m., the rescue squad went to the 5100 block of Home Avenue for a heart patient. At 10:24 a.m., the rescue squad responded to the 4100 block of Crystal Lake Road where a person had fallen. At 2:18 p.m., fire and rescue units were called to a fatal traffic accident on River Road. At 3:43 p.m., the rescue squad went to a traffic accident at the intersection of Park ana Broad Streets. At 5:13 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a house fire on River Road, near Black Partridge Road. At 7:36 p.m., the rescue squad was sent to the 1000 block of Center Street for a person having a reaction to medication. At 8:37 p.m., the rescue squad was called to the 3300 block of Elm Street for a person with trouble breathing. At 10:41 p.m., the rescue squad was sent to the 800 block of Nancy Lane for an asthma problem. APRIL 13 At 11:42 a.m.* the rescue squad responded to a traffic ac­ cident at Elm Street and Industrial Drive. At 12:12 p.m., the rescue squad went to a traffic accident in the 3800 block of Waukegan. At 2:22p.m., the fire department was called for a grass fire along Lillian Street. At 7:09 p.m., the fire department responded to a car fire in the 4200 block of Elm Street. At 7:48 p.m., the rescue squad was called for a person with chest pain in the 300 block of South Drive. APRIL 14 At 7:14 a.m., the rescue squad responded to a person having heart trouble at St. Mary's Church. At 6:32 p.m., fire and rescue units were called to a house fire in the 3200 block of Bull Valley Road. At 7:34 p.m., the rescue squad went to Alliance Church for a person with heart trouble. Camp set for diabetic children Recycling will help church members finance addition First aid course to begin April 30 A com first aid course en- The McHenry County Defenders will conduct one of its regular recycling drives (first and third Saturdays) on Saturday April 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the parking lot of McHenry Community High School West Campus, 4724 W. Crystal Lake Rd., McHenry. Co-sponsoring the drive will be Faith Presbyterian Church of i McHenry. According to Earl Van De Wege, stewardship and fund raising chairman, the group is seeking to raise $300,000 for an addition to their church. , Ground breaking took place on March 31. for an educational and ; social wing to the present ; building. Readers can help by bringing any or all of the following: i newspapers with no junk mail or I magazines included, "tin" cans ' rinsed and flattened, glass containers with all metal and plastic removed, aluminum scrap of all kinds, used motor oil, and brown paper bags and J cardboard j,n manageable bundles. The usual aluminum buy-back program will be conducted for 100 percent aluminum cans. The current market price will be paid with a bonus of two cents per pound if the cans are crushed and another two cents per pound for lots of more than 100 pounds. The 36th annual American Diabetes Association's (ADA) "Triangle D" summer camp for children with diabetes will be held June 23 to 29 for campers ages 8 to 10, and June 30 to July 6 for campers ages 11 to 13 on the shores of Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. The cost of each one week session is $200, however, no child will be turned away due to financial reasons. HEALTH FAIR Area businesses and civic groups will join Northern Illinois Medical Center at a health fair planned for Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 4206 W.
