Gary Lazar, Explorer Post 1230 adviser and son A.J., ac companied by scouts Michael Douglass. Jim Danczyk, Gregg Krzecki, Bill Walters and Wafiy Prein, left for Galena Friday April 26, returning home Sunday *the 28th. They joined about 6,000 other, scouts at the National Scout' Camporee, at the six camping sites set up around Galena. _ By the time Gary returned to the campsite after registering, •the boys had the tent up and a fire pit made, with everything in order for the next day's ac tivities. They appreciated the oldness of Galena, visiting President Grant's home and the historical museum. Being in terested in fire safety, the Galena Fire Department gave our group a tour of their facility. The weather was a bit wet at times, and there wasn't too much sleeping|but it was a good time of meeting other scouts and relivihg the history of a bygone time. t The boys rested on the drive home, and are now looking forward to their open' house ana the scout jamboree to be held at McHenry County College. MIGHTY HUNTER , slight body taut thrust heaved the spear. Alas, the carp was too alert, and it was spared to continue in its life work of making more carp. Dan had to leave his sport before he could win a battle, as the necessities of civilization make his and Maribeth's return to DeKalb imperative. But he will come back again to hunt Itis prey in the waters of Lily Lake.
