Verdung, McHenry County treasurer has announced that 1984 real estate tax bills are scheduled to be mailed from the courthouse early this week of . May 6. First installment payments will be due on Thursday, June 6; the second installment will be due on Sept. 6 / The failure of the taxpayer to receive a tax bill does not affect the liability for payment. The total amount of 1984 taxes is $84,991,832.28 as compared to $80,999,650 for last year. "Many . of our local taxing districts have increased their rates this year to compensate for the dip in the assessment levels. The average tax bill has gone up about five percent in most areas of McHenry County," Verdung- stated. Entries invited to 4-H - beef show The Richmond-Spring Grove Community Clovers and Gophers 4-H Club is sponsoring a Junior Beef Preview Show at tfie Woodstock Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9. The show is open to anyone ages eight through 19 as of Jan. 1, 1985. Over $1,000 will be awarded as prize money with $200 for Grand Champion, $100 for Reserve Champion and $100 for Heifer Grand Champion. There will be 10 market classes, eight breeding classes plus Showmanship competition. Prof. Carl Herschenger, the beef specialist from the University of Wisconsin- Madison will be the judge.
