McHenry's Carlton wins feature race at Wilmot WILMOT, Wis. - Good drivers take advantage of op portunities. Such was the case with McHenry's Dennis Carlton Saturday night. In the 20-lap late model sportsman main after one lap, leader Bob Schweiss of Fox Lake was sent to the pits with a flat tire following an accident with Steve Scott of Round Lake. On lap nine, leader Skip Martin, another McHenry resident, had a bent left-rear wheel send him to the pits for, a tire change during a caution period. Carlton then inherited the lead on Martin's pit stop and the 1984 Auto Racing spectator stock champion went on to his first sportsman feature victory. Wonder Lake's Duke Norton and McHenry's Jay Maywalk rounded out the top three. All three competitors battled it out, in the third heat, with Carlton finishing first, followed again by Norton and Maywald.
