Cecilia Serritella (4th) made a motion for the city to petition the ZBA to repeal that part of the ordinance and put it in the building code. There was some confusion as to just what parts of the or dinance were involved and the matter was tabled. ' 'We can't move fast enough to help Koepke," Lieder said, prior to his motion to table the issue DISTRICT15 until more information was obtained. The motion to table passed 6-2. Voting against were Aldermen William Bolgier (1st) and Frank McClatchey (3rd). The council deferred action on installing pedestrian walk buttons on the traffic lights at Elm Street and Industrial Drive. While the junior high schools have veiy adequate physical education programs, the elementary scnools ar£ lacking, she reported. "Most students have physical education only one day a week." She indicated the state mandates five physical education classes per week. Regarding art, she noted, "We are quite concerned that so much time is spent doing un- creative activities, 'learning and coughing it back up'. Art is an area badly lacking." And, she indicated that since the schools have facilities for home economics and industrial arts, they should be put to use. "This seemed to be a good way to use limited funds," she concluded, "...on the areas that seemed to us to have the highest HOT School Select Chorus opened the meeting with three selections including, "This Land is Your Land*" 3 DAYS ONLY SAT.-MON. I We want to apologize for any inconvenience while we are closed. Sometime in the later part of May our operation will shutdown for approximately 2 weeks to rejuvenate and make some very important changes. As many of you can remember this station did not always look as it does now, and we feel it is time for some impro vements. This corner of Richmond Road and Elm Street has been Standard Oil (AMOCO) for the past fifty-some years. Times change all things, especially large corpora tions such as Standard. Corporate policies and changes have made us at Bruce's Standard look elsewhere for a product that can serve you as you have grown accustom to. While we are closed, our downtime will be kept to a mini- mum and when we return we will be affiliated with Mobil Oil Co. We have "spent much time to research the brands of gasoline and related^ products to retain the same octane and, quality that this station has supplied in the past. When re-open we hope you will try our new Drand of pro ducts and remain with us for our same quality service we have always provided. BRUCE'S STANDARD SERVICE 3522 W. ELM ST.
