Coun­ ty area you're only a hop skip and a jump to reeling in the fun from a cozy fishing hole. More than 59 million men, women and childern in the U.S particpate in sport fishing, and most of them are weekend fishers. So if you always wanted to get out and really have a good time, but didn't know where to go, except for the big lakes, here Is something for you. Moraine Hills State Park on River Road off of Route 120 from the north or Route 176 from the south. Offers some of the best bass, walleye, and bluegill fishing around. Park Superindent John Schweder, says May is the best time to fish for Walleye and Bass. Lake Defience In the park holds the most likely place to catch fish, Schweder said. The lake is small, 46 acres, and only allows 10 boats out on the water at a time. There is not shore fishing. North Wilderness and Tomahawk lakes are good for bass and bluegill but they don't compare to Defience for the amount of fish caught, Schweder said.
