'Magic Waters' atUs meet A bright-colored, mirth-provoking mascot has been added to Magic Waters, in Rockford this year. On Saturday, May 25, a rotund, fun-loving parrot named Wet Willy will welcome opening day visitors to the unique water theme park at the 1-90 and U.S. 20/U.S. 51 inter­ change near Rockford. "The name for the orange and blue mascot was chosen from entries in a name-the-parrot contest which began March 26," said Cheryl Marshall, public relations director at Magic Waters. The winning name was submitted by Michelle P. David, an 8-year-old from Cherry Valley. "Our mascot is designed so that it will be available for snapshots, shaking hands, tours and special events," added Marshall. "We feel the personality of the parrot and the brightness of its colors will add to the excitement and special at­ mosphere of Magic Waters."
