An expanded program this year was announced by Lions Club president Hal Meyer. Planning for the two-day celebration began one month after last year's gala, which was enjoyed by an estimated 30,000 people. The "Taste of Crystal Lake," which featured more than 24 different major food items and snacks last year, will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, with a pig roast added to the food choices. Magic shows and the Garfield Gpose Muppet show will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. Garfield will return July 4 at 5 p.m. when the Costume Parade will be judged by Garfield and his friends. Prizes will be awarded for design and originality. All youngsters will receive a certificate for a soft drink from a local hamburger restaurant. There will be Skinner Amusement rides for young children available at reduced rates. More than 27 hours of live entertain ment are planned for the two day festival.
