The district committee is an organzied group of citizens comprised of elected officers, members-at-large, and representatives of all chartered organizations, including churches, synagogues, PTA's, civic and fraternal groups in the area who use the program of Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting or Exploring. The group functions to serve Scouting in the area in the McHenry County, Kish­ waukee District.^ It operates through eight committees namely: advancement, cam­ ping, finance, activities, leadership training, mem­ bership, communications, and exploring. The groups exist to insure the quality of Scouting program and expansion of the movement in the area. Cornstubble accepted the •large on behalf of the new officers and general mem­ bership of the district com­ mittee. Preschool holds annual Olympics Joyful Noise Christian Preschool recently held its annual Olympics in the gym­ nasium of McHenry High School East Campus. The preschoolers were joined by parents and siblings, and the entire crowd wore Joyful Noise t-shirts in primary colors and paraded around the gym. Every child received Olympic ribbons and had refreshments provided by Sue Sullivan. This year's chairman, Diane Mullins, coordinated the project, which included souvenir programs, flags of many nations and in- d i v i d u a l c o m p u t e r i z e d programs of the event schedules.
