McHenry High Schools were represented by 16'students who participated in the statewide skill Olympics of the Illinois Association of Vocational In dustrial Clubs of America Building classes schedule open house Sunday This Sunday, June 2, the McHenry High Schools Building Trades program will host an open house for its two-year prcriect home. The public is invited to 404 N. Kensington from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to tour the energy-efficient, passive solar home. The program simulates actual working conditions found at the building site. This program, under the direction of Bill Winkel, has been recognized by the state for its teaching of modern energy conserving and passive solar techniques. Students from other depart ments have contributed their creative talents to build the residence. MCHS will hold class this summer McHenry Community High School District 156 announced a summer school program for students wishing to earn high school credit. Classes will meet daily from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. during/the first session and from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during the second session. First semester classes will run from Monday, June 10, through Friday, June 28. The second semester runs from Monday, July 1, through Friday, July 19. Classes will include math, English, U.S. history, consumer economics, physical education and typing. Registrations are being ac cepted at East Campus from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuition charges are $37 per semester for Dist. 156 residents and $58 for non-residents. There is a one time $5 registration fee. (VICA) held recently in Springfield. A Wonder Lake resident and junior at Marian Central Catholic High School was one of three students named to Girls and Boys State, sponsored by the American Legion of Illinois. Chuck Sowers, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Sowers of Wonder Lake, was chosen to participate in the program which is a ^'compressed course in practical civics."
