JLNE 12.1985 Church Faith Presbyterian Church Building addition Started at Pastor will be ordained June 20 ' A graduate of Northwest College, Kirkland, Wash.; Western Evangelical Seminary. Portland, Ore; and North Park Theological Seminary, Chicago: the Rev. Shoop has served Chain 0' Lakes Covenant as pastor since June 12, 1983. The reverend and his wife Donna have been married 16 years and have one daughter Dana, age six. The Evangelical Covenant Church, which celebrates its world-wide centennial in Min­ neapolis June 18-23, was organized in 1885. Its roots were in the Lutheran State Church of Sweden, and it has now grown to include nearly 600 churches in the United States and Canada. • Chain O' Lakes Evangelical Covenant Church is located at 4815 N. Wilmot Rd., Johnsburg. This local congregation will be celebrating its 20-year an­ niversary this November. Construction has begun on the new building addition at Faith Presbyterian Church, located at the intersection of Lincoln and Chapel Hill roads. In late May, the ruling board of Faith church voted to employ a construction company in Northbrook, 111. to be the con­ tractor. Work will continue through the summer and will include expansion of the sanc­ tuary from 220 to 338 seats, the addition of nursery facilies^ a fellowship hall, offices and classrooms. All internal work within the existing church is expected to be completed by the time of Vacation Bible School Aug. 12- 16. The pastor, Dr. Eric J. Snyder, indicates that all church programs will continue as scheduled. "We recognize that there will be some inconvenience," he commented, "but with a little flexibility, all our programs will continue." Visitors are welcome to come and see the progress on the new building and attend worship at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. each Sun­ day. Pre-school Sunday School for ages two through five is held each Sunday throughout the summer at 10:45. Nursery care is available at both services.
