Those answers come in the form of a cookie, rummage sale, and car wash fund raiser to be held in Woodstock on Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, at the First Presbyterian Church and the Ace Hardware parking lot. J;JGa.m. to 6; jO p.m. on Friday, June 14, and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 15, at the First Presbyterian Church, on Calhoun Street, just two blocks west of Dean Street. Then on Saturday, one can proceed east on Calhoun Street to the Ace Hardware parking lot, at Route, 47 and Irving Street, for the car wash, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Turning Point volunteers will wash cars for $2.50. Turning Point is a not-for- profit agency that provides services for victims of domestic violence. Services include a 24- hour telephone line, support groups for abused women, children's groups, advocacy services,,emergency shelter for battered women and their children, and a group teaching alternatives to violence for abusive men. Help may be obtained by calling 338-8080 at any time. Volunteers who wish to provide assistance may call the office at 338-8081 on week days or the help line at any time. Spring Grove proclaims day for storytelling The Spring Grove village board officially proclaimed Sunday, July 21 as "'Illinois Storytelling Festival Day in Spring Grove." The board also approved a $1,500 contribution to the Festival. The second annual Illinois Storytelling Festival will be held t in the new village park, iust behind St. Peter's Church. Featured will be many of the finest professional storytellers in the nation. Hughes, first chairman of the commission when it was organized in 1964 to finance and manage construction of the courthouse building on Illinois Route 47, served as chairman for 20 years. In honoring Hughes, Hamilton Hale, vice chairman, reviewed the commission's several construction programs, in­ cluding the present annex ad­ dition on the south east corner of the present courthouse property on route 47.
