Jl >E 14.1985 Neighborhood news Ringwood: Local postmaster issues a warning of possible bogus solicitations Our local postmaster advises ,that the US Postal Inspection Service has received numerous complaints from customers who have been solicited by in dividuals for funds on behalf of the postal service. The schemes -fere described as follows: Postal customers are being contacted in person at their (Residence by an individual who •tells the customer his-her letter carrier has been arrested. Customers are then solicited for available cash to contribute to the Carrier's Bond Fund. They are told that the mail delivery will be suspended until bond money is raised and the carrier is released from jail. Doris Low 653-9262 Postal patrons are solicited in person to contribute to a Postal Employee's College Fund by an individual representing himself ; as a postal employee. The patron is told the money is used ftb aid fellow employees to attend ; college so they may be able to : further their career. ' Customers who feel they have 3>een solicited regarding such ^schemes should report this ; information to their local post office or write the Inspector in Charge, 433 W. Van Buren, Chicago, n 60669-2201. Victims should give their name, address, and telephone numbed where they can be contacted. If further information is required, postal inspector V.J. Saturday, June 2, to^help Ed and Diane Skidmore celebrate their twenty-fifth wedding Anniversary. They had It lovely party at their place of business. There were several of Ed and Diane's friends and former baseball players from Rich mond and Spring Grove; also, a lot of their friiends from Mountain and the surrounding area. She attended a birthday dinner at noon on Sunday for her grandson, JJ Hogan (JJ was a big 6 years old) at the home of his parents Sue and Mike Hogan. At 3 p.m. Ila attended the Marian Central Baccalaureate services, followed by aduation, where her grand- aughter, Nancy Parsley aauated. Nancy, daughter of at (Hogan) and Tom Parsley was chosen the class valedic torian. She received a four year all tuition paid scholarship to Mundelein College. Nancy wc. also the recipient of many other awards ABOUT TOWN Art Baker and daughter Cindy, who lives in Woodstock drove to Strawberry Point, Iowa last weekend. They visited Cindy's grandmothers. Art and Mary's mothers and they are doing very well for their ages. It was a beautiful weekend for a trip. Another couple traveled north last weekend. Art and Katie Christopher visited Art's parents in Marinette County. On the way they couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop for a visit at tneir daughter Diane's at Black Creek, Wis. They gotta keep track of those grand children as well as the kias and parents. . GRADUATION PARTY Linda and Chris Ferrara had a graduation party for their son, Saturday June 8, at 2 p.m. David graduated from John- sburg Jr. High School on June 3. Those attending the party were David's grandparents Virginia Hubbard of Skokie and Nick and Dorothy Ferrara of Chicago. Great aunt and uncle Bill and Betty Frazier of Morton Grove, Lou and Dick Gillen, Fred and Lena Rossi and Julius Can- zoneri, all of Chicago. Also, aunt and uncle Chris and Gary and Kevin and Karen Hubbard and son Erik; Nancy Hubbard of Skokie; Jim Hub bard of Prospect Heights and uncle Chuck and two sons of River Forest. All had a good time and all wish David the best of his future. Congratulations David.
