Zorn of 1300 Hillside Lane, McHenry has been assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, after completing the Air Force basic training. During the six weeks at Lackland Air Forse Base, Texas, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. He is a 1983 graduate of McHenry East Campus High School. Airman Michael R. Weirich, Son of Albert D. and Barbra L. Weirich of 1411 Fairview Lane, McHenry, has been assigned to Chanute Air Force Base, 111., after completing Air Force basic training. CL woman killed in car crash ;boar A Crystal Lake woman was killed Friday when her car apparently crossed the center line on Lake Avenue in Woodstock and struck a dump- truck, police said. The victim was identified as Yvonne M. McCarthy, 26, of 311 Second St., Crystal Lake. According to reports, Mc­ Carthy was eastbofind in the 1100 block of Lake Avenue when she reportedly crossed the center line and crashed into a dumptruck driven by Roger J. May, of 3013 Thompson Road, Wonder Lake. May, 44, and McCarthy were the only occupants of their vehicles. May told police he veered to the right to avoid the collision but could not. May was taken to Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, Woodstock, for treatment of injuries. The collision occurred at 2:24 p.m. July 12.
