Newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Whitehead became residents of 1320 Oeffling Dr., McHenry, following their wedding May 25 in the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Genoa City, Wis. The bride is the former Linda Boekhaus, daughter of Mrs. Barbara Boekhaus, 092 Sterling Parkway, Genoa City. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Whitehead, 3019 N. Ringwood Rd., McHenry, are the parents of the bridegroom. The Rev. James Kennedy presided over the 4 p.m. nup tials, and "One Hand, One Heart" was sung by Susan Boekhaus. The altar was adorned with floorers and wedding candles surrounded by baby's breath, red roses and white carnations. The bride's traditional white wedding gown had a sweetheart neckline and standup collar adorned with Schiffli em broidery; Juliette sleeves; Chantilly lace detailing on the bodice; and a chapel length train. Attending the bride as maid of honor was Susan Boekhaus of Genoa City. Bridesmaids were Kathy Whitehead and Nancy Wolf of McHenry; and Michele Whitehead of Barrington, 111. Attendants wore daphne rose dresses with a sweetheart neckline, spaghetti straps and a gathered waist, complemented by a jacket with puffed sleeves and a standup ruffled collar. They carried long stem red roses accented by baby's breath. Brad Schmitt of McHenry handled the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Mike Whitehead and John Wolf of McHenry. and Steve Whitehead of Barrington. The mothers of the bride and groom were gowned for the occasion in tea length dresses of mauve chiffon, and ivory lace, respectively. Plan picnic Hie McHenry Moose Lodge 691 will hold its first outdoor picnic beginning at noon Saturday, Aug. 17. An outside canopy tent will provide shelter for dancing, food, refreshments and all day activities on the grounds. The Legion of the Moose will be roasting corn, and the Women of the Moose will serve sand wiches, salads and desserts. Games for children, teens and adults will provide an afternoon of fun for members and guests. A dunk tank will also be on the premises so that everyone can dunk their favorite person. Members of the Chain O' Lakes Chapter, Sweet Adelines are looking forward to their engagement July 18, at 7 p.m., when they will bring enjoyment to the senior citizens of Beach Haven Council. Some of the group will be joining other Sweet Adelines from Region No. 3 July 19-21, at St. Mary's College in South Bend, Ind., for a musical weekend of work, fun and fellowship. Chain O'Lakes Chapter is seeking more members. Those who like to sing are invited to join the group on Thursday nights and learn to sing four- part harmony, barbershop style. Konecny family gathers A Konecny family reunion was held on the fourth of July at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Konecny, brother-in-law of Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Konecny of Wonder Lake. One hundred and twenty-five were in attendance, coming from Texas, Virginia, Michigan, Nevada, Fort Sheridan and other parts, of Illinois. The home is situated on a high, wooded area where swimming and fishing are en joyed all summer. The good swimmers took advantage of a long, high slide into the deeper water. All enjoyed a traditional Bohemian feast with an ap propriately decorated cake and a variety of homemade desserts. The afternoon was spent dancing and playing games, including horseshoes and baseball, with the women beating the men's team. This year's memorable get- together for the Konecny clan was brought to a bang-up close as everyone watched a pretty fireworks display.
