Page 18 McHENRY PLAINDEALER Section A Wednesday, July 24,1985 Community McHenry Area Chamber to host golfers' outing Fire Orange, Fluorescent Green, Chartreuse, Butterfly Pink and of course white, are the golf ball colors that will be seen this year at the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing at McHenry Country Club Wednesday, August 14. A colorful day is planned for Chamber members and guests starting with golf at 6 a.m. and through the day culminating with a steak dinner in the clubhouse at 7:30 p.m. Prizes for almost everyone as well as for various contests will be awarded following the dinner. There will be a hole-in-one contest with the awarding of a new Chevrolet Cavalier Con­ vertible to the first golfer to get a hole-in-one on the 8th hole. The contest is being sponsored by Gary Lang of Gary Lang Chevrolet in McHenry. There is still time to make reservations for golf and dinner or either separately by calling the Chamber Office at 385-4300. Nature center sets dinner The Friends of Vetera Acres Prairie, a McHenry County Audubon committee, will hold its annual potluck dinner at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at the Crystal Lake Nature Center, 230 N. Main At., Crystal Lake. The dinner will be followed by a short program and a. walk through the prairie. This walk will start at 2:30 p.m., instead of the usual starting time of 2 p.m. Bill Wingate, naturalist and "discoverer" of Veteran Acres Prairie, will be in charge of the walk. SPECIAL MEETING The McHenry High School Dist. 156 board of education will h hold a special meeting Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. to approve bond sale resolutions and award bids for life safety work.
