Pets get their day in the sun Household pets vie for at tention, and at the McHenry County Fair there are many exhibits that 4-Hers consider special--rabbits, pigeons, chickens and dogs and cats. An important aspect of cat and dog projects is that youngsters learn how to groom and feed them and how to train them-especially dogs-so they are obedient. Dogs in classes at the county fair training learn how to listen to their masters while in noisy surroundings that include other dogs and people. A dog care class was held a few days before the fair, and a showmanship class and competition was held in early July. During the fair's opening day activities, attention for some will focus on cats. Judging these 4-H projects in feline com petition takes place at 7 p.m. July 31 in Building E. Open house for singles An Open House will be held Wednesday, July 31, at the Elks Club in Woodstock to acquaint area singles with the new meeting place for McHenry County Young Single Parents. The club is located at the nor thwest corner of the square, at Cass and Throop streets. Young Single Parents is a nationwide organization which acts as a support group for single parents between the ages of 21 and 48. 1 FREE SPINAL EXAMINATION •t.
