Hie Air Medal is awarded for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Mitchell is an airborne com­ puter display maintenance technician with the 28th Air Division. The sergeant, is a 1978 graduate of McHenry Com­ munity ffighSchool_ Airman 1st Class Susan E. Trojan, daughter of Dennis P. and Peggy L. Trojan of 111 N. Ashland Drive, McHenry has participated in Global Shold 85, an exercise involving U.S. Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Navy and Marine Corps units and elements of the Canadian forces. The exercise, coordinated by the Air Force Strategic Air Command (SACJ, was designed to enhance readiness and the ability of SAC to carry out or­ ders should deterrence fail. Trojan is a defensive systems trainer specialist with the 410th Bombardment Wing at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Mich. She os a 1981 graduate of McHenry High School. Marine Lance Cpl. Greg F. Fundahn, son ; of Edward Gundahn, 903 Anabel, has been promoted to his present rank while serving with the 3rd Marine Division on Okinawa. A 1982 graduate of Woodstock Community high School, he joined the Marine Corps in April 1984. Army Reserve Spec. 4 Lawrence D. KohOn, son of Lawrence Kohon of 3705 Fillmore McHenry, , has graduated from the tactical transport helicopter repair course at the U.S. Army Transportation Center, Fort Eustis, Va. The course provides in­ struction for students to perform general aviation knowledge, and the removal and installation of all system components of the UH60A helicopter. He is a 1982 graduate of Johnsburg High School* McHenry. Marine Lance Cpl. Bentley W. Treat, a 1985 graduate of Johnsburg High School has been promoted to his present rank while serving at Navel Air Station, WiDington, Tenn. he joined the Marine Corps last October. Army Reserve Spec. 4 Randy E. Turner, son of Sandra J. Turner of McHenry, has graduated from the tactical transport helicopter repair course at the U.S. Army Transportation Center, Ft. Eustis, Va. The course provides instruction for students to perform general aviation practices and pro­ cedures. During the 10-week course, students were also instructed in general aviationknowledge and the removal and installation of all system components of the UH60A helicopter.
