The bride is the former Sandra Straumann, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Les Venahle, 4612 W. Parkview, McHenry. Mr.* &nd Mrs. Jack Weinberg of McHen- ty and Mr. John Speciale of Chicago are the parents of the bridegroom. > Father Tranel presided over the 2 p.m. nuptials June 15 in Christ the ing Catholic Church, Wonder ake. The church was decorated with flowers and pew bows; and the bride's brother-in-law Harold Hartwig played the "Wedding Song" on the guitar. The bride wore a wedding gown styled with a bodice accented by seed pearls, a Queen Anne neckline and bishop sleeves of chiffon and Chantilly lace. The skirt was of sa- tinorganza, bordered with bridal satin, similar to the detachable ca thedral length train. Her cathedral length veil was attached to the back of an open crown picture hat cov ered with lace. An added touch was diamond earrings belonging to her great-grandmother. The maid of honor was the bride's ster Deborah Hartwig of Wonder ake. Bridesmaids were sisters of e bride, Charlene and Jeanette raum^nM McHenry and her sis- sses of crepe de chine in mauve? rose, orchid and periwinkle. Their gold chain necklaces were the bride's gifts, and they each carried a single stem pink rose. Flower girls were Eachel and Sa rah Klapperich of McHenry. They wore short, orchid dotted Swiss dresses with puffed sleeves; and carried hand crocheted baskets of pink carnations and daisies. The best man was Harold Hartwig of Wonder Lake and groomsmen were Kurt Walters of Wonder Lake and brothers of the groom, Patrick Speciale and Steven Weinberg, both of McHenry. They wore silver gray tuxedos. Jason Straumann of Hebron, the bride's nephew, was the ring bear er. The bride's brother Dennis Straumann of Hebron and her brother-in-law James Matchen of McHenry served as ushers. The mother of the bride wore a royal blue crepe back satin, floor length, sheath dress with a drape. A floor length dress of gray qiana was the choice of the groom's mother. A reception for 210 guests was held at Andre's Steak House. A spe cial guest was the bride's grand mother who came from Minnesota. The couple graduated from Mc Henry High School in 1978. She is a file clerk for Hopkins & Sutter and he is a department manager in a local retail store. They are making their home in Wonder Lake. The bride's gown, attendants' dresses and ring bearer's suit were all made by her mother and a fam ily friend, Val Klapperich. Founds-Phalin James Phalin and the former Marianne Founds were married May 25 at 6:30 p.m., in the Lewiston First United Methodist Church, Lewiston, Idaho. The Reverend Daniel Walker officiated in the cha pel decorated with pink roses. The groom, son of Larry and Pa tricia Phalin of Cary, is a 1978 grad uate of Cary-Grove High School and a 1983 graduate of the University of Idaho. The bride, daughter of Boyd and Rosemary Founds of Lewiston, graduated from Lewiston High School in 1981 and the University of Idaho in 1985. The maid of honor was Natalie Johnson of Colfax, Wash.; and the best man was Robert Collaer of Mt. Vernon, Wash. Bridesmaids were Marietta Arn- zen of Nez Perce, Idaho, Lana Hor- ton of Lewiston and Kim Barnett of Orofino, Idaho. Groomsmen were the groom's brother David Phalin of Chicago, the bride's brother Robert Founds of Lewiston and Tim Pratherof Cary. Ushers were Mark Mills of Cic- ero, 111. and &fian Anthony of Blackfoot, Idaho. The new Mrs. Phalin has a BS in Accounting and her husband has a BS in Computer Science. He is em ployed as a computer programmer by I. S. Grupe in Lombard, 111. They are making their home in Schaum- burg, 111. The groom is the grandson of El len Phalin of McHenry and the late Thomas Phalin. The Phalin families have been residents of McHenry for seven generations.
