Entitled "Rembrandt's," the 67 works are being hosted at 15 Ameri can museums through 1967 by The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum of Wausau, Wisconsin, through special arrangements .with the Kunstler- haus Society of Austrian Visual Artists of Vienna, owners of the collection. The Milwuakee Public Museum is exhibiting the collection through Sept. 29,1965. Hours are 9.m. to 5 p.m. daily. No Chicago area museums are scheduled as hosts for the Rembrandt tour. The etchings were initially collected by the Viennese Biedermeier painter Johann Mathias Ranftl (1805-1854), whose widow donated them to the KunsUerhaus in 1668. Their subject matter ranges from Biblical illustrations to self-portraits to landscapes. Only during the past several years have they been circulated to other European museums and now to America. An attractive catalog with interpretive text by Mark Mark J. Spencer accompanies the exhibit. Spencer is currently director of the Edna Carlsten Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and lecturer of Art History.
